weekly update on covid-19 from chancellor jones

Weekly Update from Chancellor Jones (Week of Feb. 15)

Posted on February 19, 2021 at 8:16 am

We are sharing guidance about non-instruction days.

Non-instruction days are intended to provide necessary breaks for our students and are to be left entirely free of any mandatory course obligations. The next non-instruction day is Wednesday, Mar. 24.

We are reminding our university community to maintain their regular testing schedule and follow COVID-19 safety protocols.

Continue to check the testing locations page or your Safer Illinois app before testing at your usual location. Please note that this semester, students who are out of compliance may also lose access to university Wi-Fi, Zoom, Compass and other technologies.

We are offering additional study spaces for students through on-campus study halls.

Study halls are opportunities for students to study in select on-campus classrooms. Supported by the Wellness Ambassador program, student ambassadors will maximize well-being by following university safety protocols, including face coverings and adherence to room capacity. View additional study space information.

We are continuing to share updated vaccine information.

Champaign-Urbana Public Health District (CUPHD) is leading vaccination distribution in our county, and the university will share vaccine information with you as it becomes available.

I am grateful for your efforts as we work to maximize the safety of our university community. Please feel free to direct questions to covid-19@illinois.edu.
