Watch for Contact Tracing Scam
The Champaign-Urbana Public Health District wants community members to be aware of a new text messaging scam pretending to be part of contact tracing.
CUPHD uses contact tracing as a process of identifying people who have come in contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, instructing them to quarantine and monitor their symptoms daily. CUPHD does not use text messaging to contact people as part of contact tracing.
You will never receive a text from CUPHD with this information.
