Alternative COVID-19 Testing Option Available for Individuals Observing Ramadan
Ramadan is expected to begin on the evening of April 12 and observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, contemplation and reflection. Individuals fasting during Ramadan who may be concerned about producing a saliva sample for COVID-19 testing can request a nasal swab test to satisfy testing requirements. This option will be available between April 12 and May 12, 2021.
Faculty/staff should contact the Office for Access & Equity at 217-333-0885. Students should call McKinley Health Center at 217-244-5661 to make an appointment. Please state that you are requesting the nasal swab test because you are fasting to observe Ramadan.
