The University of Illinois will host a COVID-19 Briefing about COVID-19 data modeling. The Briefing will stream live on Thursday, August 6 at 11:30 a.m. CDT. The briefing is the latest in the university’s COVID-19 Briefing Series.

This briefing will discuss in detail the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign researchers’ data model that is being use to analyze COVID-19. The model predicts how different variables help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Some variables include wearing a face covering, social distancing and frequency of testing. The model applies the mitigation measures then predicts the impact of the variables individually and collectively.

The panelists for this discussion about return to campus will be:

  • Chancellor Robert Jones
  • Nigel Goldenfeld, Professor of Physics
  • Sergei Maslov, Professor of Bioengineering

You can watch the live-stream on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at https://go.illinois.edu/covid-19briefing.

And if you miss the Briefing, it will be archived on the Briefing Series page.
